Mu Alpha Theta - If you have a genuine interest in mathematics and desire to explore math more deeply, this is the club for you!
Mu Alpha Theta- is the only nationally recognized math honor society for high school and junior college students. It exists for the promotion and advancement of mathematics. Active members who maintain all A's and B's in their math classes are recognized at graduation with honor cords.
Meetings: - Thursdays at lunch in Room 202- to discuss challenging problems and contest strategies.We have both individual and team competitions on campus, competing with other high schools in the United States and Canada.
- Members have won awards at local competitions at Santa Clara Valley Math Association- . In 2006, we had a student qualify to compete at UC Berkeley with the American Mathematical Society, AMS. In 2008, we placed 6th in the nation at the National Assessment & Testing Collaborative Math Contest. In 2009, two students qualified for the American Invitational Math Exam, we placed 9th in the nation with National Assessment and Testing Competition.
Annual Dues: $10 per year includes both local and national dues
T-shirts: $14 for short sleeve t shirt, $20 for polo shirt
