Indian Creek
Picture bridge
Stop by to see what has been done at the Indian Creek Natural Area at the Burton Cotton Gin. The major work of establishing the trails is done, but there will be plenty of projects for volunteers to work on in the coming months.
We will have a booth at the Burton Cotton Gin Festival on April 17, where we have an opportunity to demonstrate the nature trails and to help people learn more about our other chapter activities.
See more details on the Indian Creek page.

Houston Toad Survey

Toad Survey volunteers met on February 1 for the final training session before they begin to listen for the endangered Houston toad on rainy spring nights throughout our chapter area. Paul Crump, with the Amphibian Conservation program at the Houston Zoo, demonstrated the equipment and helped the volunteers prepare for their work.

The theme will be Top Tenners, but the idea is to to socialize and get to know each other better. Contact Mary Evelynn, Carol Montgomery, or Jonell Parker for more details or to help with the plans.
