Each year since 2000, the Master Gardeners host a Garden Tour of four to five gardens in the county, along with the Heritage Garden. This is the major fundraiser for the year. Area homeowners open their gardens to members of the community who are able to see them and get ideas for their own landscaping.

The Friday evening before our Garden Tour we have a pre-tour of all of the homes featured on the tour. This is a great time for our home owners and Master Gardeners to get to see all of the beautiful gardens.

This year's tour featured 4 different homes with the chosen theme of "Town & Country".  This included a variety of homes from a traditional smaller suburban yard to one expanding multiple acres.  "Something for every homeowner" was our goal for this year.

Imagination and amazing creativity were a highlight enjoyed by all. The colorful personalities of our homeowners reflected in their garden design. Many ideas were to be taken away from this year's gardens.

From raised bed vegetable gardens to newly planted landscapes were found throughout all of the gardens. Seeing it all come together was amazing.

We were thankful for such beautiful weather the weekend of the tour. With all of the preparation and hard work that went into getting ready, we were all pleased to have had so many visit the gardens.

We are marking 2009 as another successful Garden Tour for Hunt County Master Gardeners. We could not have done it without the generosity and dedication of area homeowners. We thank all who participated in our tour.
