 The Master Gardeners of Hunt County is an educational and volunteer program offered by Texas AgriLife Extension Service of the Texas A&M University System. After 66 hours of instruction in botany, soil science, entomology, plant pathology, turf grass, fruits, nuts, and berries, vegetable gardening, etc., Master Gardeners volunteer over 5,000 hours per year, with a value of $100,000 to the Hunt County Community. 2010 marks the 14th year of the Hunt County Program, which has been recognized locally and on the state level for outstanding educational programming. The program is designed to increase the availability of horticultural information and extend horticultural projects throughout the community.
