1. GroveSite SmartLinks
.....Enhanced Email Notifications, Email Digest, and Dashboard's Recent Activity!
GroveSite provides many options for letting people know what's new in their GroveSite(s): Instant Email Notifications, Daily/Weekly Email Digest, and your Dashboard's Recent Activity section.
Now all of these features will include GroveSite SmartLinks. Just click on any SmartLink and GroveSite will show you the site/page with the specific information highlighted (shaded) in blue. This enables you to quickly identify the new information and respond as needed. Never miss an important question or discussion post!
If you are not already logged in, you will be required to login after clicking on the first SmartLink.

2. Dashboard Filters for Recent Activity
....Show what you want and hide the rest!
Want to know what your key client uploaded for you in the last 12 hours? Or if your staff has responded to yesterday's Discussion Posts? Or what's new in just 1 of your sites, not all of them?
GroveSite's new Dashboard Filters can do all of this -- select what you want to see by:
(1) Time Period (4 hrs, 8 hrs, 12 hrs, 1 day, 3 days, 1 week, 1 month)
(2) Person
(3) Domain/Company
(4) Site
(5) Activity
Recent Activity is filtered for you, and presented using GroveSite's SmartLinks. Click a link and GroveSite will show you the correct site/page with that information highlighted (shaded) in blue.
TIP: This works great if you have your Dashboard on the left-hand side of your screen. Click 'My Info' to update your profile. Scroll to the bottom of the form and make sure the following 2 boxes are checked.

3. Task and Calendar Alerts
....Need a heads up on upcoming tasks or meetings? Try this!
GroveSite will send you Email Alerts - only when you have a task or calendar event coming up.
Task Alerts inform you of tasks that are due today, tomorrow, or in 2 days. The tasks listed in the email are SmartLinks, so you can click on them and GroveSite will show you the site/page and highlight (shade in blue) the task in question. The Alerts email will also include any tasks that are overdue!
To take advantage of task alerts, your site needs to use the 'Project Plan' page type; task Due Date and Member Responsible must be filled in.
Calendar Alerts inform you of events that are occurring today, tomorrow, or in 2 days. If you are using Calendar pages in your GroveSite sites, we highly recommend that you and your site colleagues select this feature.
To get this great feature, click My Info and scroll to the Email Digest/Alerts section. Note that if you are a Site Administrator managing a project site, you can also get Alerts about any tasks coming due, not just those you are individually responsible for.

4. BIG File Uploads
....up to 2 GB per file, if you need it.
In the past, GroveSite has limited the size of a single file upload to 100MB. No more! You can upload files of any size now, up to 2GB.
TIPS:
(1) Make sure your GroveSite 'Organization Administrator' modifies your site settings to allow BIG files before you try this. He/she should:
:: Click Org Admin
:: Click [Adv Options] for your particular site
:: Modify the "Upload Max MB' setting to anything up to 2048 (2 GB)
(2) Uploading huge files can take hours over the Internet. The 2 GB files we tested took between 3-5 hours each, depending on the particular ISP in use. Don't close your upload form or logout of your site during this time. You can open another browser and do other GroveSite work while you are waiting.
(3) Your organization's GroveSite fees are based on uploaded file storage, so if you upload some big files your monthly fees may increase. Feel free to call us at 866-952-9880 to ask about the impact on your organization's fees.

5. Quick Edits for Databases (also called Data Tables)
....You may have tried these fantastic features already
One of GroveSite's unique features is Custom Databases, also known as Custom Data Tables. You can create a simple online database of whatever information is important to your team or project. This might be Work Orders, Sales Leads, Software Bugs, Permit Status, Construction RFIs, Vendor Quotes, a Product Development Log, and so forth. In the simple example below, a PR firm is tracking the Media Opportunities it is trying to develop on behalf of a client.

The new Quick Edit feature gives you a new screen to edit multiple rows simultaneously, rather than one by one; once you have made your changes, just click Save once. It's FAST. On the screen above, simply click the [Quick Edit] link above the database.
You'll then see all rows of the database on this single Quick Edit screen.

One very unique, and useful, GroveSite feature is the ability to add a collaborative Discussion area to any/every 'row' in the database. You might name it 'Contact History' in a Contacts database, or 'Product Discussion' on a product development database, or perhaps 'Activities Log' on a Permits database.
The new Quick Discussion Post enables you to add a comment or discussion note to multiple rows of the database simultaneously. Again, use the [Quick Discussion Post] link above the database. This opens a new Quick Discussion Post form that looks like the following. Just type in your comment (and attach a file if appropriate); then select which rows of the database this comment should be attached to. Then click Save once. It's FAST.
